This Niagara 35' had a leaky rubrail. The leak had existed for years, allowing water to enter and saturate much of the balsa core in her hull. Over time this caused the core to rot away, sapping the structural strength of the hull.
The first patch of rotten core has been identified and removed, the new Core Cell is being vacuum bagged into place.

Once all the rotten core was removed and replaced, the new laminate was post-cured. With the fairing of the hull complete, the new, freshly applied Awlgrip™ topcoat, the hull looks as good now as the day she was launched. Staff member Dirk Wolfe-Milner took the lead role in accomplishing this complicated repair.
